Terms of use

1. The service

Viny is a tasting tool that uses artificial intelligence to analyse wine labels, create wine sheets and offer interactive quizzes. The app also offers optional social features: adding friends, viewing the profile they share and sending them a wine sheet.

2. Subscriptions and payment

Premium subscription

unlocks scans beyond the free allowance, and so the tasting profile (built from 4 rated wines), the AI sommelier, the decanting timer, cellar reminders (when a wine is ready), taste matching and the weather records for each vintage. The quiz, multiplayer mode, the cellar and the journal stay free.

Payment

the amount is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.

Automatic renewal

the subscription renews automatically unless automatic renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Managing your subscription

you can manage your subscriptions and turn off automatic renewal in your App Store account settings after purchase.

3. Use of artificial intelligence

Viny uses Anthropic's technology to analyse your pictures. While we do our best to provide accurate information, AI results (tasting notes, harvest years, pairings) are given as a guide only and may contain mistakes. Viny cannot be held responsible for a misreading.

4. Responsibility and health

Alcohol

the app is intended for adults of legal drinking age. Viny encourages responsible drinking. Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health.

Data

you are responsible for keeping your photos. In “Guest” mode, data is stored locally and may be lost if the app is deleted.

5. Social features, user content and moderation

By adding friends, you accept that the app shows content written by other users: their display name, and the note they attach to a wine sheet they send.

Zero tolerance

offensive, hateful, sexually explicit, defamatory, misleading or illegal content is forbidden, as are impersonation, harassment, spam and commercial solicitation. No abusive behaviour is tolerated, and no abusive user is tolerated.

Automatic filtering

display names and notes are cleaned before they are shown: links removed, invisible characters neutralised, length limited.

Reporting

from the friends list or a request you received, the ••• menu lets you report an account by choosing a reason (impersonation, inappropriate name, harassment, spam, other) and adding a comment.

Blocking

reporting an account blocks it in the same step; blocking is also available on its own. A blocked account can no longer send you requests or bottles, and no longer has access to your profile.

Handled within 24 hours

every report is reviewed within 24 hours of being received. Infringing content is removed and the account responsible is suspended or closed.

Consent

nobody becomes your friend unless you accept their request. Removing or blocking a friend immediately ends their access to your profile.

Suspension and termination

we may suspend or delete, without notice and without refunding a current subscription, any account that breaks these terms.
