Before you start.

Is Viny free?

Viny is free to download and your first two scans are on us. Premium unlocks unlimited scans, and with them your tasting profile (it takes shape after 4 rated wines), the AI sommelier, the decanting timer, cellar reminders, taste matching and the weather records for each vintage, for $3.99 a month or $24.99 a year. The quiz, multiplayer mode, the cellar and the journal stay free.

Why a Premium subscription?

Because every scan and every answer from the sommelier costs money: they go through an AI (Claude, by Anthropic) that is billed each time it is used, on top of the servers that keep your cellar. Viny shows no ads and sells no data, so the subscription is what pays for all of this. What costs nothing to run (the quiz, the cellar, the journal) stays free.

Do I need an account?

No. You can try everything as a guest, and your data then stays on your iPhone. An account (Apple, Google or email) lets you find your cellar on another device and add friends.

Does Viny recognise every bottle?

Viny reads the label itself, not a barcode, so a small winery scans just like a famous name. If the label is damaged or poorly lit, the analysis may hesitate; a second try from another angle usually does it.

Is Viny on Android?

Not yet. Viny is an iPhone app and needs iOS 26.2 or later.

What happens to my data?

Your cellar is yours: nothing is sold and nothing is used for advertising. The details, and how to delete everything, are in the privacy policy.

Who makes Viny

Viny is built by one person: me, Valéry. I made it so wine stays a pleasure: scan a bottle, discover its story, know what to open tonight and play a quiz around the table. No jargon, nothing to learn by heart, no fuss. Your cellar is yours: I sell the tool, never what you put in it. And if anything goes wrong, your message lands straight in my inbox, and I answer it myself, usually within 48 hours.
